The Brigance Brigade Foundation was founded in 2007 by former professional football player O.J. Brigance and his wife, Chanda, in the wake of his ALS diagnosis. The foundation exists to meet the needs of individuals and families impacted by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a debilitating disease commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. While their ultimate goal is a world without ALS, Brigance Brigade Foundation strives to equip, encourage, and empower people living with ALS.

Brigance Brigade Foundation Raises Over $120,000 Using Qgiv’s Peer-to-Peer Platform

CHALLENGES

Brigance Brigade Foundation was saddled with a clunky race registration process that required donors to register as a participant on one website and as a fundraiser on another. Many would-be fundraisers failed to sign up as fundraisers because the tools they were using didn’t make becoming a fundraiser a part of signing up for the race. Network for Good offered a solution, but this required the purchase of another tool with a steep up-front cost. They compared their current tools against other software solutions and found Qgiv!

HOW WE HELPED

Qgiv offered the Brigance Brigade a one-stop shop for event registration and fundraiser signup with its peer-to-peer platform. The platform had significantly lower up-front costs by comparison to Network for Good and was the most affordable option of the packages the organization considered. In addition to lower cost and a reasonable processing fee, the organization was also able to save on processing fees during their 5.7K Championship Race Fundraiser by enabling GiftAssist.

By taking advantage of Qgiv’s free, unlimited support, the Brigance Brigade Foundation was able to easily set up and customize their peer-to-peer fundraising form and host a successful event.

RESULTS

The event raised nearly $200,000 total, with $120,000 in donations and registration fees processed through Qgiv. 30% of donors used GiftAssist to offset processing fees, bringing in an additional $921.56.
